From its beginnings in a garage in 1988, to its headquarters today in Costa Mesa, California, the Doggie Walk Bags Company is a family-owned-and-operated business. Chris Crosson, the co-owner and president of the company, grew up on Balboa Island, where dog nuisance on the bay front had always been an issue. The idea for the bags was created by the need for easy and convenient clean up. For over 24 years, Chris, his wife, and co-owner, Laura, have been working to create the ideal bag for dog nuisance pick-up. DWB's unique bags carry numerous great qualities to help make a not so desirable task more doable. From an array of different scent options to help sustain odor neutralization which are matched with fun, opaque colors. You also have your choice of bags with or without tie handles, all which are earth-friendly & reasonably priced so everyone can help keep communities clean! Our bags are *100% degradable, made with post consumer recycled materials, giving plastic a second life. The company mission is to provide a useful and economical product that makes an undesirable task easier, resulting in cleaner communities worldwide. One of our top priorities is to minimize our global footprint. Besides cleaning up the mess now, we want to make sure we are not creating messes for generations to come. Plastic is a hot topic in current environmental issue discussions. But, some companies are responsible with their plastic production and we are proud to be in that category. When the plastic for our bag is made, special chemicals are added to the formula to speed up the decomposition process. Where a plastic water bottle can take dozens of years to degrade, the decomposition process for our bags begins within two months, about the same time as an apple-core takes.*(website: http://www.epi-global.com/) Today, the Doggie Walk Bags Company employs over 50 people and is internationally known, but we still maintain our original vision of supporting the communities we serve. In addition to our family, the DWB team includes friends, neighbors, and developmentally challenged students and adults. Our company is proud to be associated with Huntington Beach Union High School District's Vocational Training Program and Westview Vocational Services, (http://www.westviewservices.org/). These programs strive to give developmentally disabled students the chance to participate in simple working environments, which then helps lead them to greater independence. The teams of young adults work alongside our family to help bring our eco-minded products from the production line to your home. Doggie Walk Bags is also active in numerous events including parades, adoption clinics, dog jogs, therapy dogs, special breed events, veterinarian hospitals and care facilities.
